Preauthorization Charges

We request a $1 preauthorization from your issuing bank anytime you add a new credit card at e-gift card checkout or to the Payment Methods section of your profile. The $1 is not a charge, but a way for us to ask your bank if we can approve the card for a transaction. Whether we’re able to pre-authorize the card or not, the $1 will be released from your card account between one day and a few weeks, and the authorization will disappear from your statement.
